Hey chums! I am currently in the process of setting up a site to promote my Illustration work. The layout and visual stuff is still very much in progress but come check it out anyway and let me know what you think!

I actually wrote a comic yesterday. I'll draw it at some point when I'm not too busy.
In other news, it is my birthday today! Happy My Birthday, everybody! :D |

Well, that's it. Hope you enjoyed it! At some point in the future I'll draw for you a quick bonus story, detailing the events that led to Warren Manning becoming Woman Man, since it's hugely unlikely that I'll ever find the time to make a fourth Action Scientist episode, and it's a story that I want to tell.

Welp, I finally became such a miserable bastard that they gave me Prozac to shut me up. I've been told to expect being fantastically ill and unhappy for the next two to three weeks before my body gets used to it and lets it kick in. Wish me luck! These side-effects, by the way, are all real. Copied straight out of the user guide.

| Action Scientist page something |
[Sep. 13th, 2009|10:10 am] |
Good morning! Time for this:

Fun fact: This is the longest page in the story. Fun fact: The door sequence made me laugh almost the entire time I was drawing it. Unfun fact: This whole page was excruciatingly boring to colour.

Whoa.
Short page today, for some reason. Yeah, the pacing in this story's kind of weird. Sorry about that. I guess it was always intended to be read in one go. Or something. Man, I don't know why I do these things.

I screwed up and drew the last line in a speech bubble instead of a thought bubble AAAHH oh well. Look at all that black! Why did I ever stop drawing my journal comics this way?
In other news: I've been watching a lot of King of the Hill lately. Now that was a fine show.

I stubbed it on a sofa, in case you were wondering.

Alright. Guess I'll post this now.

I'll probably just post links to the website for each subsequent update, since these were obviously intended to be viewed on a page with a black background.
Boy, you can sorta tell I hadn't drawn these characters for a while, huh?

| I've seen a million faces |
[Jul. 5th, 2009|10:41 pm] |
Hello, chums. Did a bit of drawing practice at work today and yesterday. I decided to start drawing faces on receipts with biro, without first pencilling anything in, or measuring the size and shapes of the features. It was pretty interesting since I don't usually allow myself that much spontenaety when drawing, so I ended up with a bunch of very varied, very interesting looking characters. I kept going until I was eventually given some actual work to do by my supervisor.
( Under the cut for big )
Earlier, I finished reading A Spot Of Bother by Mark Haddon. It was very good.

Hello. A comic for you:
Drawn at work, as is the norm lately, so excuse the wobbliness. I seriously get asked this all the time. Possibly because a lot of people I talk to apparently don't even know what illustration is, let alone why I'm doing a degree in it. I guess they're just pressing me to finally say "I want to do the drawings in childrens books!" or something so they can go "Oh, THAT's what it means..."
Also I decided to upload the following thing as well. It's part of a summer project I'm doing for uni. A visual diary about how boring my life is. (Hmm... Sounds familiar)

And, lastly, some stupid things I drew on blank receipts at work a few days ago:

Action Scientist is coming along nicely but very, very slowly. I forgot just how much time and effort goes into these damn things. You all had better love it, is all I'm saying.
